13U Tournament Results - Illinois Super NIT Indiana Prospects punch ticket to Disney Print E-mail

Tournament Results (6/6/2008) IN Prospects punch ticket to Disney’s Elite 24

The TBS ranked Indiana Prospects punched their ticket to Disney during the recent Illinois Super Elite NIT. The Prospects went 5-0 outscoring their opponents 51-19. The 5 teams in the Prospects path were Bridgeport Bombers 12-0, Hinsdale Red Dogs 11-7, Illinois Lightning 10-1, Iowa Bandits 7-6 and Chicago White Sox Amateur Elite 11-5. In the last 2 tournaments the Prospects have played they have finished 3rd in a 14 team 14 yr. old tourney and now 1st in the Super. The Prospects have won 4 tourneys on the year and plan on being a team to be reckoned with at Disney. The Prospects are currently ranked 15th in the nation by the U.S.S.S.A point system. The coaching staff is feeling pretty excited as this is the first year we have solely played U.S.S.S.A. wanting that very tough ticket to Disney. Other Indiana teams that have “punched their ticket” to Disney are: Indiana Bandits, Indiana Bulls, Indiana Sycamores, Mavs 13U, and the TC Hurricanes. 

The best of the best will compete for the opportunity to play in Disney. This is the event teams have waited for all year. USSSA will sanction over 280 NIT Tournaments in 2008.  There will be eighteen Super NIT's. These NIT's will award the usual World Series berths and will also award a berth to the Elite World Series. The Super NIT's will award higher points than a NIT.  Teams that win World Series berths from an NIT or Super NIT Tournament must play in the State Championship in their home state to be eligible to play in the World Series.  The last Super NIT will be in Pensacola, FL June 13-15.
