13U Tournament Preview - Michigan Major Elite NIT Print E-mail
Michigan Major Elite NIT 13U preview

June 11, 2008-  All eyes, this weekend, will be on the 13U Michigan Major Elite NIT, on the campus of Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Twenty-two teams from nine different states will be vying for the crown, in one of the best 13U events of the year.

An incredible 18 members of the TBS 13U “Players to Watch” list will be on display over the course of the three days. Things get kicked off at 8:30 am Friday, with the finals slated for 6 pm Sunday.
Will the winner come from one of the TBS top 25 teams MSA Black (MI), RBI Redwings (PA), Indiana Prospects (IN), Coral Springs Diamonds (FL), Kentucky Kids (KY) or the Chicago White Sox Elite (IL)? Or will it come from a program that is rich in history like the South Oakland A’s (MI), Columbus Cobras (OH) or Cincy Flames (OH)?

2006 Elite 24 participant Capital City Bombers (KS), 2007 week #7 final 8 Cooperstown contestant, Lake Shore Graysox (MD), and 2007 AABC finalist Michigan Wolves (MI) would love to regain some of the magic from the past.

The Illinois Lightning (IL), Mid-Ohio Mustangs (OH), Hilliard Colts (OH), Quad City Hitmen (IL), Indiana Bandits (IN), Lapeer Outlaws (MI), Tipp City Lumber (OH), Gold Medal Titans (PA), Orland Sparks (IL), and the Livingston Storm (MI) round out this talented field. Don’t be fooled by these teams “rounding out the field”, any of these teams are capable of winning at any time and they all would love to make a name for themselves by knocking off a top 25 team. Sometimes those types of teams are the most dangerous. You heard it here first, one, possibly two of these teams, will pull an upset this weekend.
Some games of interest this weekend has Coral Springs vs. Indiana Prospects, MSA Black vs. Lake Shore, South Oakland A’s vs. RBI Redwings and Kentucky Kids vs. Orland Sparks.

This should be a great event, good luck to all teams. Stay tuned to TBS for updates and scores as they come in.
