Updated 13U Rankings as of 6/12/08
1. (1) Banditos Black (TX) – Streak is at 155……”nuff said”. 2. (3) Team Anderson (CA) – Won the Battle in the South by beating the NC Cleveland Indians in the semi’s and East Cobb Astros in the finals, both by one run. Good teams find a way to win one run games. 3. (4) Rocket City Stingers (AL) – As mentioned in the last updated rankings, school ball is now over and the Stingers are on a torrid pace. Like the Banditos, they have yet to lose inside the 13U age group. Won the TN and the AL Super NIT’s. 4. (2) OC Hawks (CA) – After taking three months off, the Hawks picked up where they left off in February, going 7-0 and out scoring their opponents 56-7 over Memorial Weekend. 5. (6) East Cobb Astros (GA) – Beat RBI Redwings and Texas Stampede before falling 12-11 to Team Anderson in the finals of the Battle in the South. Have climbed to number two in the USSSA point rankings. 6. (7) MSA Black (MI) – This is one of the biggest teams that we have ever seen. What makes this team so scary is that their big guys can flat out run. Punched their ticket to Disney with impressive wins over Beaver Valley Red and Georgia Bandits at the Michigan Super NIT. 7. (5) RBI Redwings (PA) – They got their Disney invite in Charlotte but this has not stopped this team from seeking out the best competition they can find. They lost to East Cobb at the Battle in the South, finished 2nd at TN Super NIT and 3rd in the Michigan Super NIT. Next up, the Michigan Major on June 13th. 8. (10) Georgia Bandits (GA) – After trying five different times, the Bandits finally got their invitation to see Mickey with a second place finish in Michigan. The addition of David Mayo will solidify an already strong pitching staff. 9. (14) Texas Stampede (TX) – Back on track by going 7-0 last weekend. They lost to East Cobb in the semi’s of the Battle in the South. 10. (9) Atlanta Monarchs (GA) – The last three Super NIT’s has seen the Monarchs finish 3rd, 3rd and 4th. They will try again this week in LA. 11. (18) Carolina Crushers (NC) – This team is #1 in USSSA point rankings and are dominating the Carolina region. If they ever hope to crack the top 10, they must play a tougher schedule. 12.(16) Head First Gamers (CA) – This team has won four events this year including the Cinco de Mayo Fiesta last week in which they only allowed 5 total runs. 13.(NR) North Texas Thunder (TX) – In talking to a good number of coaches, they agree that this is the best team that no one has heard of. Well, they have heard of them now. We will follow this team closely and see how they do in Disney. 14.(8) Memphis Travelers (TN) – Last few weeks have been tough on the Travelers. Looking to get the “ship” righted after going 1-3 at the TN Super NIT. 15.(12) Coral Springs Diamonds (FL) – A heart breaking one run loss in the semi’s of the FL Super NIT leaves this pre-season top 10 team scratching their head. Can turn things around with a good showing at the Michigan Major in June. 16.(13) NC Cleveland Indians (NC) – Another early season favorite who has a run of tough games. Lost in the semi’s to Team Anderson at the Battle of the South. 17.(20) Ark-La-Tex (LA) – This team is 25-1 overall. They are trying to qualify this weekend for Disney. 18.(21) Mac N Seitz (MO) – Had their Super NIT run stopped in the Semi’s by the Texas Hurricanes. Finished 2nd at a 14U qualifier earlier in May. 19.(17) Texas Tornadoes (TX) – Had a HUGE let down last week at the Memorial Day NIT losing three of four. 20.(NR) Banditos Gold (TX) – Most organizations have a tough time putting ONE team in the rankings, the Banditos now have TWO. This team is 45-12 with five of those losses coming to, you guessed it, other Bandito teams. They won the LA. Super NIT and will joining the Black team in Disney.\ 21.(15) California Sting Outlaws (CA) – This team hasn’t been on the scene much since qualifying for Disney, hopefully they will get some tune up games before Orlando. 22.(22) Beaver Valley Red (PA) – For the third straight year MSA Black has ended this teams Disney run in Michigan. This year is was a two out single in the bottom of the seventh that did them in. 23.(NR) All American Sports Academy (CA) – Won the Colorado Super NIT. They are 5-2 against TBS top 25 teams. 24.(23) Alabama Longhorns (AL) – They are 35-7 this year and won the Stars and Strike event last week. 25.(24) Hanover Heat (VA) – Won the CBC Holiday Hitfest by going 4-0 and allowing only five total runs. Oh, by the way, did we mention that is was a 14U event?
