2008 13U Cal Sting Outlaws Print E-mail
California Sting Outlaws 13U <!--[if !vml]--><!--[endif]-->When the Cal Sting Outlaws combined with Cooperstown Week 9 champion California Sliders, a powerhouse was born. Back in February, a skeleton crew of the new combined team took down a Super NIT win and a coveted spot in the Elite 24. Head Coach Lynn Stuart said, “This was some of the best baseball I have ever seen a team play regardless of age. This team played flawless baseball; JR Davis made a catch in left field that would have made the highlight tape on ESPN. We hit the ball hard and often and we made all the plays. This was a huge team win and only having eight of the roster players, it made the win so much sweeter.”  Logan Lombana had an outstanding tournament, hitting three home runs and not allowing a single run in eleven innings on the mound. He was voted tournament MVP and joined Mac Stuart on the All-Tournament Team. The Cal Sting Outlaws will now focus on getting ready for the Elite 24. This team boasts a very strong hitting attack lead by TBS players to watch: Mark Cardinalli , Mac Stuart and Logan Lombana. Their competitive pitching staff is led by Gabriel Meza and Isaiah Yates. The Outlaws hope to hit their way to an Elite 24 Championship.   FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THIS TEAM, GO TO THE 11U HOME PAGE. Runner up Super NIT Nor Cal 2007 Week 9 Champions Cooperstown Dreams Park         The Sliders had a week like no other team in the history of Cooperstown Dreams Park. During their week there, they hit a record 72 home runs, and only allowed five runs against them. The home run record was a team effort, but was led by Mac Stuart with 16, JR Davis with 14, Steven Martinez with 13, and Isaiah Yates with 12. This was a week to remember. The Orlando Sting previously set this record in 2000. The Cal Sting Outlaws have grown accustomed to winning and take pride in hard work and preparation. As these two teams become tougher and work to keep their winning ways, one thing is for sure…this team will never stop working hard and will never loose a tournament for lack of preparation. Keep your compasses pointed towards this team, for they are headed in the right direction.
