12U NYBC: Juice to face Lexington for the Championship Print E-mail

August 24, 2008 Cordova, Tennessee.

The 12U Chet Lemon Juice edged past the Stingrays of Norwalk, California in three extra innings to earn the right to face Lexington, Kentucky in the NYBC championships.

The game went thee extra innings before it was decided.  In the top of the 9th, Stingrays jumped up by one run on a single by ACE relief pitcher, Robonto Duran, taking a 4-3 lead.  But they were unable to stop the offensive power of the Juice in the bottom of the 9th inning.  Michael Ray lead off with a double.  Then, Tyrone Perry followed and hit a deep RBI double off the center field wall to drive in Ray and tie the score.  From that point, Hunter Lee connected with a ball to right field to drive in the winning run.

The AAU National Champions will face Lexington at 6:30pm Sunday to determine the first NYBC national champion.
