12U NYBC Results - Blossom Valley tames the Giants Print E-mail

August 22, 2008 – Cordova, Tennessee, NYBC Nationals:  After a 3 hour rain delay, the 12U PONY Champions from Blossom Valley, California moved past the Germantown Giants by a score of 9-3 in 6 innings of play.

The score was tied at 2 all after three full innings of play, but the PONY champions come to bat in the bottom of the 4th inning and built a 5 run lead and never looked back.  From that point, Blossom Valley pitcher, Bryson Brigmon took charge of the game and pitched three very good innings, striking out six Giant batters while giving up only 1 earned run. Bryson also went 2-3 batting, including a booming triple, early in the game, that got Blossom Valley on the scoreboard.  From there, these PONY Champs never relinquished the lead as the Germantown Giants could manage only one more run in the top of the 6th when Michael Fitzsimons hit a double that set-up the Giants final scoring threat.

The Giants will now move on to face the Juice 12’s in a game that is scheduled to be played tonight.  The Germantown Giants will face the Babe Ruth Champs from Lexington, Kentucky in a game that will also be played tonight.
