Tyler Alamo is from Buena Park, California. He plays for the 12U Norwalk Stingrays, the 2008 USSSA Elite 24 National Champions. Tyler spends his time pitching, catching, first base, third base and center field. Tyler is an exceptional batter. He was the clean up hitter in the Stingrays line up. Tyler was a huge contributor with his Stingray team during two Southern California Super NIT Championship wins over HB Nitro Elite. Tyler hit one towering 330+ shot in Menifee California at the Thanksgiving Super NIT against Team Anderson. He also threw a 1 hitter against the HB Nitro Elite at the Elite 24, winning 8 to 0. Tyler is a fantastic student and tries hard in everything he does. Tyler's favorite player is Evan Longoria because he is an outstanding hitter and third baseman. Jacob Barfield from Pearland, Texas is a proud member of THE AMERICAN AVENGERS out of Houston. The 2008 season has brought a lot of success for Jacob. Not only is he a valuable ball player, Jacob is also an honors student. He primarily playing 1st base (and occasionally playing 3rd base). Jacob also pitches in big game situations. Jacob has pitched his team to victory in each of their 2008 championship games. It is impressive to note that Jacob earned a 5-0 record this season when pitching against the number 1 ranked team in the Nation - the 12u Banditos Black. One game that stands out the most is “A Great Time Tournament” in Cy-Fair. Game was tied in the top of the 6th and Jacob hit a go ahead homer, while also pitching a complete game – thus earning him MVP recognition. Another star moment for Jacob came in Cooperstown earlier this summer. His team was playing the Arkansas Reds, the game was tied in the bottom of the 5th, bases loaded, no outs. With the Reds 3, 4, and 5th position hitters coming up, Jacob was called upon to pitch. He struck out the first two batters and forced the third batter out on a pop up. Then, in the top of the 6th, Jacob gave his team the lead by blasting the 2nd pitch he saw deep over the left field fence. His favorite MLB player is Josh Barfield not only because he is cousin but because he is a good role model for him to look up to. Being the nephew of former MLB player Jesse Barfield and cousin to Josh & Jeremy; Jacob has big shoes to fill and great idols to look up to.
