It has been a great summer thus far at Cooperstown Dreams Park. Six weeks of tournaments have been completed with 6 weekly champions being crowned. The park has accommodated 584 teams, an average of 4700 games played and around 7000 players who have enjoyed this incredible experience. Playing at Dreams Park is a great opportunity for all players to play baseball where it all began as well as to visit the Baseball Hall of Fame with their family, teammates and coaches. In review, week #1 winner was the TBS #8 ranked Nevada Wildcats. The Wildcats beat a very strong TBS #7 ranked Team Miami 2-1 in the championship game. Week #2 was the week for the 10U teams from across the country to travel to Cooperstown to play this great game at this special place. During week #2 it was the TBS #3 ranked Leon Medical Center team that dominated the younger age group throughout the week and in the Championship game 11-2, beating a very solid and fundamental TBS #8 ranked Miami Playmakers. Week #3 brought the older boys back to Dreams Park and it was the TBS “Honorable Mention” South Florida Tsunami team earning the championship over the TBS “Honorable Mention” Western Tennessee's Germantown Giants 5-3 in the Championship game. Week #4 saw the boys from Long Island NY, the TBS #21 ranked New York Outlaws come out on top 3-0 in a very well played Championship game giving up no runs to the very fundamental TBS #25 ranked East Cobb Stallions from Georgia. Week #5 may have been the most competitive 12U week to date in 2008. This week saw Lakeland Florida's - TBS #4 ranked Team Rawlings come and leave Dreams Park with no doubt. Team Rawlings dominated week #5 and beat a strong Miramar Canes from South Florida 13-1 in the Championship game. Week #6 winner was no stranger to success at Dreams Park; the boys who play for the TBS #15 ranked Beaver Valley Reds organization clinched the organizations 5th Championship. The Beaver Valley Reds came out on top by a final score of 2-1 over the TBS #13 ranked Jax Storm Black in a pitching duel between the two teams. Week #7 will begin at Cooperstown Dreams Park on Saturday July 17th. This will begin the second half of 12 weeks of play at Dreams Park. Some of the favorites for this particular week will be the TBS #18 ranked Thibodaux Terror from Southern Louisiana trying to play on the big stage in front of the large crowd on Thursday night. Another team to keep close watch on is the Miami Force team from Florida. The Southern Boyz from South Georgia must not be taken for granted either as they have the tools to be there late on Thursday as well. Travel Ball Select wishes all teams the best of luck playing in week #7 at Cooperstown Dreams Park.
