2008 12U So Cal Hawks (CA) Print E-mail
The 12U So Cal Hawks travel baseball team, led by Head Coach Dan de la Sota, is experiencing significant success with a group of talented young baseball players. The Hawks were originated in 2006 as a secondary team to the Charter Oak All-Stars Pony league in Covina, CA. In 2007 the team became a dedicated travel baseball team acquiring all-star players from Covina, San Dimas, Glendora, and Rancho Cucamonga CA. The Hawks won the 2007 CCYB Championship as 11 year olds qualifying for World Series events with USSSA and Super Series. Notable accomplishments this season, the Hawks traveled to Cooperstown, NY (NCTC week #2) and battled for 5th place out of 24 teams going 6-2 only to lose a heartbreaker in the semifinals. Recently the Hawks won the USSSA Spring Fling tournament championship. The Hawks won in grand fashion going 4-0 with victories over the TBS "Honorable Mention" Backyard Boyz 2-0, So Cal Bombers 8-4, TBS #13 ranked Team Anderson 14-5, and Louisville Legends 6-4.

The team is well-rounded in all aspects of the game but probably has its greatest strength in a wealth of pitching, followed by a strong offensive punch. The Hawks consist of Billy Sanford, Cody Moreno, Andrew Reynoso, Evan de la Sota, Scottie Hurst, Nick Roubal, Ryan Avila, Chris Armstrong, Anthony Avila, Myles Clark, Tristen Fickewirth, Alex Fraijo, Brandon Lucero, and Gage Pucci. This roster gives the Hawks 14 solid players along with 2 of the finest assistant coaches with Robert Avila and Joe Reynoso. This combination is the reason the Hawks are making noise in Southern California. Travel Ball Select wishes the Hawks continued success in 2008 and beyond.
