2008 12U Jax Storm Black (FL)

The 12U Jax Storm Black team is an emerging powerhouse from the Jacksonville, Florida area that has fought their way onto the TBS top-25 landing currently at #17. Coach Alan Boyle took his all-star team of the past four years to form the nucleus of this team. He transformed it into this solid 12U travel team in Northeast Florida. The Storm have proven on the field that they can compete with and beat the best in the state.

Six players started playing together when they were 7 years old and make up the core of this team. They are David Boyle, Matthew Allen, J.J. Shimko, Logan Kunze, Alex Collins and Justin Buettgen. The core six grew into a strong nucleus of 12 when the storm added six more from four-counties around Jacksonville area. They are: Alex Willich and Matthew Mourao from Ponte Vedra Beach, Chad Lowe from Putnam County, Jacob Matthews from Jacksonville, Lane Barker from Daytona Beach and Christian Hicks from Crescent Beach.
The Storm is taught to respect the game, their opponent and those in authority but don’t be deceived by their well manner behavior as this team will crush the ball, fire a strike, steal a base and sling the leather at any opponent.

The Jax Storm have won three of their last six tournaments and played well to beat TBS #6 and #8 teams respectively. The Storm is playing beyond the Florida borders as well and has scheduled a trip to Cooperstown Dreams Park (week #6) to battle against 96 other teams to win the week long tournament.
For other 12U teams, Travel Ball Select has upgraded this storm from a watch to a warning.
