September 11, 2001 marked a historical moment in the United States, and as a result of the tragic events that occurred on that day, Paul Stark was inspired to organize the American Avengers in Houston, Texas. The Avengers were founded on core principles of honor, values and passion, and the 12U Avenger team has exemplified these principles, playing the finest baseball in its class each year. With an overall record of 385-73 since its inception, this baseball team has strived for excellence on and off the field. The 12U Avenger team has won multiple state titles, and two World Series titles, 7U USSSA (2003) and 9U Triple Crown (2005).
The 2007 season included several major tournament wins, but the most impressive victories were at two Super NITs in both Oklahoma and in Dallas, TX, earning them a berth to compete in the prestigious USSSA Elite 24 World Series. The Avengers entered the USSSA Elite 24 World Series with only one loss prior to this season ending event. Very impressive considering the region with its nationally ranked teams the Avengers play against year round. The Avengers gave last year’s Elite 24 champions their only loss but finished 5th in 2007.
The 12U Avengers 2008 fall season climaxed with a strong win in the Texas Fall State Tournament, going undefeated and allowing only seven runs throughout the tournament. The Avengers started the spring 2008 season with the full roster back in action, returning with solid pitching from their aces, Jacob Barfield, Zach Brosch, and Michael Cantu. The infield includes dynamic players; Lane Fritz, Dalton Stark, Tate Rosenauer and newcomer Kalen Johnson. The Avenger outfield has plenty of speed with Connor Allen, Ryan Chandler, and new to the team, John Alvarez and Tyler Flores. The Avengers also bolster a tough, newcomer catcher in Aaron Dodson. This team is continuing to depend on a powerful pitching staff, top to bottom offensive players, and a rock solid defense to take them to national titles in 2008.
The 12U Avengers 2008 season is proving to be a blockbuster season with five impressive, major tournament championships, including earning berths in Oklahoma for a return trip to compete in the 2008 USSSA Elite 24 World Series. The Avengers are currently holding an overall 50-15 record year-to-date. The 12U Avengers are scheduled to play in four more major tournaments, including a trip to Cooperstown Dreams Park and the Elite 24 World Series in Orlando. The American Avengers 12U team is looking forward to competing with the biggest, and best in their field, and believes they are positioned well to excel at the highest level, and reach their goal of winning a national title in 2008.
The American Avengers 12U Major Team is full of hard working, dedicated players and coaches that are focused on “Excellence without Compromise”
