2008 TBS 12U First Team All America Team Print E-mail

James Alcoser - Banditos Black - TX - Alcoser played a huge role this year in the Banditos team’s offensive performance.  He set the pace from the lead off spot as well as anyone in the country.  He had an on .645 OB avg., .480 BA, 72 stolen bases and 102 runs scored.  He was as close to a guaranteed run as you can get.  While Alcoser wasn’t one of the biggest kids on the Banditos team, he definitely had one of the biggest arms recording 17 outfield assists including 10 at home plate.

Tyler Alamo - Norwalk Stingrays - CA - Alamo is a complete five tool player (runs well, pitches, catches, solid infielder and outfielder).  He is mostly known in 12U baseball as the “Man” on the mound and the player with the big stick.  He pitched two complete games against the HB Nitro and the Terminators.  His hitting was strong with clutch at bats throughout the season.  His overall performance at the Elite had a big impact for the team’s Elite Championship.  Alamo was a key member of the 2008 Cooperstown Dreams Park NATC Champions – Team Travel Ball Select.

Jacob Barfield - American Avengers - TX - Barfield was known as the pitcher in Texas.  He is a strong kid that throws very hard with a good slider and demonstrates power with his bat.  He has dreams of one day following the footsteps of his uncle and cousins who played professional baseball.  Keep an eye on J.B as he is surrounded with baseball experience and knowledge.  Barfield was a key member of the 2008 Cooperstown Dreams Park NATC Champions – Team Travel Ball Select.

David Boyle - Jax Storm Black - FL - Hard throwing Boyle pitched against and beat some of the best 12U teams in the nation in 2008.  Not only is Boyle a great 12U pitcher, he has lots of power with his bat.  He runs well and has the skills to play solid at any position on the field.  David was a key member of the 2008 Cooperstown Dreams Park NATC Champions – Team Travel Ball Select.  While at Cooperstown, Boyle was very impressive pitching four shut out innings in the championship game against a powerful team.

Logan Browning - Team Rawlings - FL - Browning may be the best 12U L.H. pitcher in the country, but this is not all that this player does well.  Logan runs well, hits for average, has power at the plate and is a solid outfielder.  Keep an eye on this kid in the future as he grows and matures.  Most believe he is the real deal so remember the name Logan Browning as you may be hearing and reading about him for a long time.

Dale Burdick - Terminators - MS - Burdick helped lead the Terminators all season with big performances in big tournaments.  He played a solid second base and hit well in the lead off spot for the Terminators.  Don't let his size fool you as he is a solid 12U hitter.  While at the Elite tournament he hit two homeruns off of Tyler Alamo (Norwalk Stingrays) in the semi-final game.  Burdick is a quiet, soft spoken kid surrounded by good baseball people with great work habits and big goals.  It will be exciting to watch Burdick over the next few years as he grows and improves his game.

Jerrod Hathcock - Terminators - MS - Hathcock was a power hitting catcher batting cleanup for the Terminators.  While at the Elite, Hathcock caught every inning for the Terminators in the August heat and humidity of Orlando, FL.  He helped lead the Terminators to their third place finish with big hits and solid defensive play.  He was a key member of the 2008 Cooperstown Dreams Park NATC Champions – Team Travel Ball Select.  He hit a three run homer in the first inning of the championship game to get things rolling for Team TBS.  Hathcock is a coach’s dream.  With his solid work ethics, look for this kid to improve his game even more for next season.

Grayson Ivey - Terminators - MS - Ivey is a big and tall first baseman that proved his power by hitting three homeruns, back-to-back-to-back on the final day of play at the Alabama Super NIT.  During the 2008 season while playing with the Terminators, Ivey basically shut down every team he faced including the National Champions Norwalk Stingrays in the semi finals of the Elite tournament.  Ivey also put up good numbers with his bat for the highly ranked Terminators team.  Ivey was a key member of 2008 Cooperstown Dreams Park NATC Champions – Team Travel Ball Select.  In the championship game at Cooperstown, he pitched a strong 1 2/3 innings shutting out the opposing team (Boys of Baseball National Travel Team).

Cameron Miller - Banditos Black - TX - Miller is as big and powerful of a 12U player that was seen in 2008.  Miller, known as “Big Mac”, was a power hitting catcher for the Banditos.  He hit from the left side of the plate in the third spot and proved to be a very tough out.  He put up some unbelievable numbers against some of the best pitching in the country.  His batting average was .589 with 134 RBI and 31 HR’s ranking him among the best in the nation.  Miller was awarded the prestigious "Player of the Year" for the Banditos organization.  He was the team leader on and off the field.  Keep an eye on Miller as most believe he is a long way from reaching his full potential.

Edgar Morales - Norwalk Stingrays - CA - Morales was considered by many as “MR. Clutch” for the Stingrays team down the stretch.  He was a complete player in 2008 and a big part of the Stingrays success.  Morales played very solid defensively at second base, pitched big innings and swung a big bat.  He also used his speed to help the Stingrays clinch their National Championship title.  Morales was named the 2008 Elite MVP, one of the nation most prestigious 12U baseball awards presented.

Kyle Pinson - Banditos Black - TX - Pinson had a big year at the plate hitting cleanup for what is considered the most powerful 12U lineup in the country.  He was at or near the top of every offensive category for the team including leading the way with 31 HR’s, .498 BA, .660 OB avg. and 121 RBI’s.  Pinson was awarded the "Offensive Player of the Year" award for the Banditos organization.  With the tradition of having power hitters in Banditos organization this is quiet an accomplishment.  Some of his other accomplishments was hitting three homeruns in a game - twice, hitting a 400 feet plus BOMB in the Oklahoma Super NIT and being part of 17 different back-to-back homeruns with his Banditos Black teammates.

Mitchell Webb - Paulding County Vipers - GA - Webb made a name for himself and his Vipers team in 2008 by shutting down some of the nations best teams on the mound.  He also made significant contributions putting up big numbers with his bat.  Webb was one of those players in 2008 that could control a game both offensively and defensively.  He is a tremendous athlete with all of the physical tools required to play the game at a high level.  TBS understands that Webb may be a better football quarterback than baseball player.  Either way it will be exciting for everyone to watch this great twelve year old athlete progress over the next few years regardless of what sport he plays.
