11U Results – Southlake Green Dragons win Triple Crown Summer Nationals Championship Myrtle Beach, South Carolina: On the final day of the Triple Crown Summer National Championships, the Southlake Green Dragons of Texas outlasted two teams who received honorable mention recognition in the latest travelballselect.com poll. In the semifinal, the Dragons beat the very talented Southside Gray Sox 3-2, while the tough state champions from North Carolina Charlotte Megastars defeated The Perfect Game 7-4. In the final, the Dragons jumped out to an early 5-0 lead, but the Megastars steadily chipped away getting as close as 5-4 after the fourth inning. The Dragons added a much needed insurance run in the top of the 6th. In the bottom of the 6th the Megastars scored once, but the Dragons were able to stop the rally and leave the tying run at second to seal the 6-5 victory.After giving up 6 runs in the first inning of pool play, the Dragons featured exceptional defense and pitching for the rest of the tournament, only allowing 10 more runs against in their remaining games. They finished the tournament 6-1, with only 16 runs allowed. This victory for the Dragons comes on the heels of their 3rd place finish at Super Series National Championships where their only losses in bracket play were by one run to two other travelballselect.com teams, the honorable mention recognized DQ Busters who won the tournament and the 18th ranked Ft.
