LAMORINDA Baseball 9 – RBA Seahawks 7
Play for 11U teams have now moved into the second day of double elimination bracket play match-ups today. The 8am early bird games matched the #6 ranked [CA] LAMORINDA Baseball club against the #10th ranked [TX] RBA Seahawks
.

The Seahawks opened the scoring with a solo homerun by Kalen Johnson. After that point, LAMORINDA came from one run down to tie the game 1-1 after three full innings.  From there, LAMORINDA went on to score 4 runs in each of the 4th and 5th innings to take a 9-3 lead into the 6th.  Their offense was driven by the bats of Marcus Turner, Joe Demers, Daniel Slominski, Eric Benedetti, and Connor McNally.  The Seahawks defense stiffened in the top of the 6th, allowing them to come to bat in the bottom of the 6th trailing 9-3. At that point, they mounted a rally that brought them to only 2 run deficit with the bases loaded.  This rally was fueled from the bats of Michael Garcia, Jordan Gunter, Zach Alaniz, and Ryan Gonzalez.

With the score evaporating to only a 9-7 lead with the bases loaded and 2 outs, LAMORINDA brought in their ace, Daniel Slominski, who then shut down the scoring threat with 3 very fast pitches mixed with one curve ball – thus preserving the win.

LAMORINDA moves on to face the Houston Lightning, who defeated the Houston Angels 6-1.  This game will be played at 8am Thursday.

The SBA Seahawks will move down, in the make up bracket, to face the New Orleans Monarchs.  The winner of this game will have to win two straight in order to have the opportunity to move back into the Championship bracket.
