11U Update - First two days a battle in McKinney Print E-mail

By Devin Hasson

There was only one team among the travelballselect.com top-25 ranking in the No. 18 Fort Smith (Ark.) Outlaws and they lived up to the billing, completing pool play as one of only two teams to go undefeated at 3-0.

The Outlaws, who scored a division-best 28 runs in the three games, will be the second seed in bracket play after facing a road against three teams that combined for just a 3-6 record.

The top seed in bracket play is the Omaha Pacesetters, who won a pair of tight games against Voodoo Baseball (5-4) and Team Texas (7-5) on their way to the other 3-0 spot in the division.

Two teams among the travelballselect.com honorable mention list are also among the field. In addition to the setback to Omaha, Voodoo Baseball tied the Rip City Angels and picked up a 12-0 victory Team Texas, the lone team to go through pool play without a win.

The Texas Crush, another honorable mention member, defeated the Texas Stixx, 9-5, and the LA Gametime Thunder, 12-2. The Crush did suffer a 6-5 loss to Texas Stixx—their lone win during pool play—in the finale on Monday.

Joining the group at 2-1 were the Dairy Queen Busters, the LA Gametime Thunder and the Texas Sliders, who managed the record despite being outscored 23-18 in their three games.
