11U Update - AAU Nationals Disney, Florida

July 23, 2008: 11U AAU Nationals – Disney, Florida: Four Teams emerge from Pool Play with 4-0 records to contend for winning this championship:

The Virginia Storm skipped their way through pool play to claim the #1 Seed in this tournament which is comprised of 30 of the best 11U teams in the country. In pool play rounds, the Storm outscored their opponents by an impressive 33 to 1 margin. The Storm will face off against the Bullets Blue (Florida) in their first game of Bracket play.

The 2nd best record in pool play came from the East Cobb Astros who outscored their opponents 50 to 6. The Astros explosive offense establishes them as one of the top favored teams to take home the trophy this year. The Astros will face the East Cobb Titans in their bracket play opener.

The 3rd team to go 4 and 0 in pool play was the Great Hands Gloves (West Coast). The Gloves turned in impressive performances by outscoring their opponents 38 to 16. They will face the Meteors (Florida) in the first round of bracket play on Wednesday.

The fourth and final team to enter bracket play with a perfect record was the Florida. They completed pool play by outscoring their opponents 12-3 in four games. The Fire will face the Coral Springs Panthers (Florida) in their opening game of pool play. This game will be played at 12pm on Wednesday.
