11U Tournament Results: Central Florida Elite 12

The final Sunday of the Central Florida Elite 12 Championship in Leesburg, FL was a repeat of the USSSA Super NIT held a month earlier as the three teams left standing at the completion of pool play where the top-seeded Florida Fire (ranked fourth by TravelBallSelect), the Central Florida Diamondbacks (#25 by TBS) and the Manasota Meteors. The D'backs opened up semi-final action against the Meteors by jumping out to an early 3-0 lead, keyed by a Nick Niarchos 2-run home run. Manasota fought back to tie it at 3-3, but Central Florida tallied 6 more in the third as Quentin Davis capped off a 3 for 3 day at the plate with a line drive solo homer. The D'backs went on to win 11-5 setting up a rematch with the Florida Fire which had scored one more run than Central Florida in a pool play game.
In the Championship game Ryan Welsh got Central Florida on the board early with a clutch 2-run single in the first, and from there it was all Quentin Davis. The big right hander held the powerful Fire in check scattering 4 hits, striking out 5, as the D'backs managed a 5-2 victory.
Braden Rollins had the most success against Davis as he led the Fire with two hits.

Next up for all three teams is the AAU National championships at Disney July 20-27, the Fire will play in the Elite 24 August 3-8, also at Disney, while Central Florida is awaiting an at-large bid.
