2008 TBS 11U Second Team ALL-AMERICA Players Print E-mail

Hayden Senger – West Chester Sluggers (OH) – Hayden was the Elite 24 Defensive MVP.  As a catcher, he was an excellent receiver who showed-off his strong arm by throwing out over 70% of the runners.  The catcher also hits for a good average and power.

Brandon Chapman – Meteors Baseball (FL) - the anchor of the Meteors, he is probably the best catcher in the Southeast.  Chapman is a big time power hitter who can take the best pitchers in the country deep.  He is one of the most intelligent and hardest working players out there.

T.J. Raguse – East Cobb Astros (GA) – LHP who got the ball in all of the big games.  Raguse logged 80 innings during the season and collected 10 wins while striking out a batter per inning.  Raguse could swing the stick as well as he too had a .500 plus batting average that included 21 doubles and 9 homeruns.

Bubba Braithewaite – Hawaii Warriors (HA) – The Warriors has an impressive showing at the AAU National Tournament in part to their top pitcher and hitter in Braithewaite.  Bubba was called on to pitch against two top ranked teams in the Florida Fire and the Central Florida Diamondbacks.  The Warriors season was short and Bubba made the most of it with a .528 average and averaged one homerun in every fifteen at bats.

Braden Rollins – Florida Fire (FL) - the ace of the Fire pitching staff.  He is also an outstanding third baseman and hitter.

Casey Kelley – Inside Sport (KS) – Casey was described by one top ranked team’s coach as being phenomenal.  His play leads this top Midwest team to a top 25 ranking and strong outings in multiple Super NITs.

Brady Aiken – San Diego Stars (CA) – Considered by many as the best left handed pitcher in California if not in the nation.

Carter Hall – Willis Park Yellow Jackets (GA) – Carter is the son of Georgia Tech Baseball Coach Danny Hall.  He will demonstrate his skills with the 12U Astros next year.

Zach Shirey - Texas Prospects Americans (TX) - Shirey pitched all the top games for the Americans and went undefeated while playing in a very competitive Houston area.  His overall record was 12-1 with his lone loss coming at Elite 24 to the Mudhens with a final score of 3-1 (he allowed only 3 total hits and finished that game with 5 scoreless innings).  His other appearance was against TABU and when he left the game the score was 3-3 and that game ended in a 5-5 tie.

Jeremiah Johnson – West Chester Sluggers (OH) – J.J. is an left handed pitcher but is known as a power hitter (scary power) as demonstrated with his 300+ homerun at the Elite verse the Chiefs.

Hugo Rodriquez – Southgate Democrats (CA) – “Juice”, Hugo’s nickname, is the smoothest shortstop at the 11U age group.  He has the best hands and feet and a swagger to back it up.

Matt Bicker – Lamorinda Baseball (CA) – Matt was the Cougars most pure hitter who found a way to get on (.608 on-base) and mostly as a result of generating 82 hits on the season (.488 batting ave.) and only five (5) strikeouts in his 208 plate appearances.  He was the number three pitcher on a deep and talented staff but missed most of the Elite World Series due to an injury.

Kaden Verdin-Cose – TABU Baseball (CA) – Kaden is a tremendous hitter and led the boys from California with batting average (.543), on base percentage (.600).  He was only with the team during the back half of the season.

Cal Stevenson – TABU Baseball (CA) – Cal is a roadrunner as he led the team (and nation?) with 91 stolen bases.  His speed contributes to his outstanding play in the outfield.  As a hitter he used his speed to hit for average (.431) and on-base percentage (.511).

Joshua Sanchez – SoCal Mavericks (CA) – Joshua is an all round player who hit a team high .564 average that included 10 doubles, 9 triples and 4 homeruns.  Once on the base path he was always a threat as he stole 52 bases and scored 50 runs during his 117 at bats.
