West Pines Nike Cobras 8, Greenville Titans 0 LAKE BEUNA VISTA, Fla. – TBS #10 West Pines Nike Cobras came on strong in their first bracket game of this years Elite 24 World Series at Disney’s Wide World of Sports. Tommy Taborda took the mound for Nike and gave Coach David Flores 3 solid innings of shut out ball. Tommy struck out four, gave up two hits, allowed no runs and walked none. The Cobras bats were out today as well. Evan Mckendry was 2-2 with a double, Steven Revilla was 2-3 with two big doubles, Richie Garcia was 1-2 with a double as well. The big hit of the game came from Ryan Smith who hit a key two out two RBI double which was the turning point in the game. The Cobras strong defense made some key plays. Second baseman Tyler Messer made a diving catch behind first base in foul territory that should be on ESPN Web Gems. Third Baseman Rylan Thomas, CF David Flores, RF Jesus Luzardo and LF Justin Hernandez also made big plays in the field. David Federman who is only nine and previously played for the 9u West Pines Cobras came in to pitch the fourth inning and showed he belongs with the big boys. Federman had a big hit in the game as well. Thursday the Cobras will face the Lehigh Valley Stealth (PA) at 10:00 AM and for the Greenville Titans they will face the loser of the Central Florida Bobcats and Banditos Black game that will be played at 10:00 AM.
