10U Update - Afternoon Day 1 Pool Play - Disney's Elite 24 Print E-mail

Update by: William Saunders

The afternoon games of day one of the 10u Elite 24 World Series being played at the Disney Wide World of Sports were just as exciting as the morning games.

At 12:30 PM there were two games played. One game had the TBS #7 OC Black Sox from California playing the Charlotte MegaStars from North Carolina. This was a hard fought game by both teams. Both teams played to win but in the end the Black Sox were a little too much for the boys from North Carolina. Black Sox get the win 8-7.

The other 12:30 game was another battle between two TBS Top 25 teams. The TBS #21 VYAA Bombers (CA) took on the TBS #23 Mac N Seitz Indians (KS). The Indians’ bats were too much for the Bombers pitching. Indians win 12-3 in four innings.

2:30 gave us three games, each game having a TBS Top 25 team. Three of the teams playing were from Texas, one from Colorado, one from Alabama and one from South Carolina.

15-4 that was the score when the TBS #9 Most Feared team from Texas took on the Greenville Titans from South Carolina.  The boys from Texas hit the ball hard and hit it often. Putting up the most runs so far in this elite event.

The second of the three games being played at 2:30 was a showdown between two Texas teams. The TBS #19 Banditos Black vs. Avengers III Red. These two teams are familiar with each other having played three times in USSSA tournaments this spring. Unfortunately for the Avengers it was the same old story. Banditos blank the Avengers III Red 8-0.

In the last of the 2:30 games you had the TBS #18 Armour from Colorado squaring off against the Senators from Alabama.  The Alabama Senators fought hard but Armour would prove to be too tough. Armour 10 – Alabama Senators 5

Two games were played at 5:00.  The first game had TBS #11 Texas Nationals Team facing the Lamorinda Monarchs from California. These two teams put on a hit show with the Monarchs upsetting the Nationals by a score of 16-13.

The second game had two Florida teams squaring off. The Tampa Crush vs. The Pensacola Aquasox.  The Crush came out swinging beating the Aquasox by a score of 10-5.
