Day one at Disney’s Wide World of Sports opened up with some of the best 10 year old teams in the country meeting in pool play. At 8 AM this morning you had the TBS #5 Tomateros de California facing TBS #10 West Pines Nike Cobras (FL). The Tomateros combined big bats and quality pitching to shut down the Cobras 8-0 in 4 innings. The other 8 AM game had the Lehigh Valley Stealth (PA) beating the New Orleans Monarchs 11-0 in four innings. At 10 AM two of the three games featured TBS ranked teams. One game pitted TBS #1 ranked Oklahoma Elite against TBS # 13 Central Florida Bobcats. This was a great game with solid pitching and defense. Oklahoma Elite would prevail after 6 inning’s of play by a score of 3-1. On another field there was TBS #17 American Avengers III (TX) against Stixx another team from Texas who is on TBS teams to watch. Another good game but Stixx would hold on for the win beating the Avengers 7-3. The third game in the 10 AM time slot had another TBS team to watch, Mac N Seitz Red Sox (MO) against the Bee’s from Detroit. Another close game with the Bee’s holding on for a 7-6 win. Of the seven pool games remaining today six of the games will feature TBS ranked teams (7 of 14 teams still to play are ranked in TBS Top 25) along with several squads on the TBS teams to watch list.
