10U LMC BASEBALL
LMC 10U Travel Baseball Team is a baseball team which is sponsored by Leon Medical Centers in Miami, Florida. The team was started in 2006 by Albert Maury, who manages the team, inspired by his son’s love for the game. His vision for the team was to have a group of players who would learn the game the right way, respect the game and hopefully fall in love with the game at the same time learning valuable life lessons which would help them in the future, in and out of baseball.
Albert Maury strongly believes in the importance of providing the players with a professional and experienced coaching staff which led to the decision to welcome Humberto Bencomo as Head Coach due to his prior successful history. Coach Bencomo led three All Star teams, representing Tamiami Park of Miami, Florida, winning all three Championships at the Pony World Series. He also coached a team to the Championship Game at Cooperstown Dreams Park 10U ending as runner up. Two years later, impressively enough, he once again led his team to the Championship Game at Cooperstown Dreams Park 12U, this time claiming victory as the 2007 12U Champions. He now heads the coaching staff of the LMC Baseball Team assisted by Jorge Maduro, Jonathan Maduro and Alex Castillo. Together they bring a world of knowledge and experience to the team and the blend of their coaching styles is proving to be a perfect fit for our young team.
The success of the team comes from being more than just teammates, but friends as well, in and out of the baseball diamond. Many of the players have been playing together since a very young age. They share a love for the game and the desire to be the best. The team consists of Albert Maury, Jr., Stephan Alonso, Nick Lopez, Alex Gonzalez, Giancarlo Pinto, Javier Castaneda, Max Guzman, Cristian Martin, Andres Sierra, Jordan Santos, Clayton Kwiatkowski & Zachary Roberts, along with an outstanding and very supportive group of parents.
They are currently playing in Tamiami Park in Miami, Florida in the Mustang I 10u Division. They are leading their division and currently stand undefeated. The team just became the 10U President’s Day Extravaganza Triple Crown Champions going 6-0 against some of the top ranked teams in their division. In January they became the 10U New Year’s Bash Tamiami Champions and they also won the Kendall Craze 10U Championship. They are looking forward to continuing their victorious tournament season along with the Cooperstown Dreams Park 10U tournament the week of June 14, 2008.
The LMC Baseball Team’s goal is to be the first team in history from Miami, Florida to win a 10U Championship in Cooperstown this summer. They have the talent and desire to be the best and with each child bringing something special to the team, their success should come with no doubt.
